James Krokee -- Director/Writer
James is originally from California, which is where he began his undergraduate studies (at University of California, San Diego) before finishing his BA degree in English at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon in 1997. In March 2006, James graduated with an MFA degree in Film & Television at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia.
James completed a number of short films while a graduate student at SCAD—including Acts 3—a film adaptation of the Biblical story about the healing of a crippled beggar. Acts 3 screened in October 2005 at the 6th Annual WYSIWYG Christian Film Festival in San Francisco. He also worked as a co-director of the senior project film Melibee, a modern-day adaptation of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, as well as Calling Forward, a Christian graduate thesis film directed by Susan Flores.
James spent over a year writing and developing Earthly Things, his graduate thesis film and the culmination of his studies at SCAD. Currently, James is writing the feature-length script for Earthly Things, which he also plans to direct.
Having completed his graduate studies, James currently lives in Los Angeles, working as a producer, project manager and writer. He hopes to direct and produce his next film under his own production company, Desert Run Productions.
